As fall flutters down upon us we say goodbye to the long warm days of summer. We harvest our gardens, mend the soil for next year, and save our seeds for the next sowing of life. We prepare for winter and the trouble riding on the backs of the brisk wind. Another season turns, our bodies and souls fill themselves with the beauty of the only constant in life, change. What is changing within you and your life? Take a moment and gaze out your window. What arises, what images appear when you contemplate the dying back, the fear perpetuated on the screens, and the world changing before your eyes? What sensations do you feel? What do your senses tell you? What happens when you take a moment to slow down?

With all of the turmoil and uncertainty in life, we can become lost in our pseudo desires and deep despair. When we remember Earth, we turn outwards with the world we reside in and thus we turn inwards to the dark corners of our minds. We can see life all around us, the birds in the trees, the fawns in the morning light, and in the stars at night. This remembrance allows us to shed light on what lurks inside, what is calling to us in our dreams and in the day to day images of our minds. We may suddenly have the urge to walk out into a storm or on the darkest night. With the spark we carry inside we can cast a light on the fears and see what is there. This light allows us to weather the storms of our current lives and fortify us for the ones brewing on the horizon. We know the storms will never get easier but we can only become more resourced in ourselves and in our communities. Thank you for joining us in remembering where you are today and how our yesterdays will help us through tomorrow.
