Meeting meaning in the dark

Living in the ANTHROPOCENE

A transformative Journey

What is life asking as we head deeper into social and ecological darkness? Who are we being called to be, now? What gifts might we be here to embody, and what needs to be released to fully embody our earth-rooted meaning at this turbulent time?

Beginning on January 18th we’ll be listening to the earth, swirling in confusion, snuggling up to uncertainty, and wondering collectively what mystery is conjuring beyond the visible.

Drawing on tools and experience cultivated over a decade, we will be integrating contemplative and imaginal practices, writing and creative work, grief tending, ritual, wandering in wild places, dreams, and the Way of Council. We will weave community from the threads of our deepest yearnings, most troubling questions, and the tender hopes for a new story of inter-relation with all of life.

Maybe we find answers, or be stalked by images, or make some new friends. Maybe we dig up more questions. We don’t know. That’s the thing with the dark - we can show up and tell our stories and ask our questions, but we don’t know what will come back until we’re there, listening. Together.

Regardless of what we find, by the end of this series, you’ll be immersed in a deeper web of relationships with humans and other-than-humans alike. And you’ll have tools and clues and maybe even something like a glowing thread in your hand, leading off toward an even deeper darkness. Join Remembering Earth to build a refuge in the unraveling as we live further into the times we were born for.

We will begin on January 18th and continue for 8 weeks.

This program will be limited to 16 people and will be online with a signal group for continuing the conversation between meetings.

Optional readings, meditations, deep imagery journeys, self-care, and community care practices will be provided prior and following our time together.

Sliding Scale Pricing

At Remembering Earth we recognize that people have varying access to resources. Therefore, we offer a sliding scale pricing structure in the spirit of the gift model for our program with a suggested range of $333-999 with a payment plan option available in the application. We strive to make our program accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances so please register at an amount that feels accessible to you and honors your commitment to this program. The payment plan has no additional fees and can be set up with three or four payments, charged once per month.

Flourish Rate: 3 payments of $333

This rate is recommended for individuals who have a strong financial foundation, including factors such as financial security, property ownership, double-income household, personal savings, or a household income exceeding $115,000. This price enables us to offer cover the full costs of this course and helps us offer more accessible spots.

Sustain Rate: 3 payments of $222

If you have a steady income and find stability in your home and life, this rate is for you. Additionally, if you have access to resources through family or friends and can budget for opportunities like this training, the sustain rate is suggested. It reflects the median price and helps cover the full cost of hosting the class.

Support Rate: 3 payments of $111

For individuals whose access to resources is limited, and whose economic situation restricts their ability to attend at the higher tiers, the support rate is available. We want to ensure that everyone can participate and benefit from our program, regardless of financial constraints.

  • Nurturing Practices and Frameworks:

Our focus will be on establishing a nurturing and supportive space where everyone in the group can connect and support one another in their unique journey. We will be engaging in nurturing practices that prioritize our connection with the natural world and the care of our bodies and overall well-being. Through a model rooted in the cycles and seasons of nature, we will explore and cultivate our innate human wholeness while asking the hemlock, the river, and the sky questions about who we are to be in these troubling times.

    Understanding our Cultural Implications:

There are many ways to understand nature connection, animist practice and its extensive cultural implications. In our time together, we will talk about how many of us have been conditioned to see the wild world as inanimate and practice remembering together how to listen and be guided by the land in our time here on earth. It is important to acknowledge that Indigenous communities worldwide, including our ancient ancestors, have historically practiced and continue to uphold these traditions, which have been impacted by colonial violence.

    Navigating the Liminal:

Engaging with the natural world, we will take our questions, feelings, and experiences onto the land and share our experience with the waters and trees, seeking wisdom and lessons on dying, emergence, resilience, and support. Together, we will seek glimpses of beauty and embrace the sacred mystery of life and death. Drawing guidance from our dreams, nature, and our intuitive selves, we will discover what our lives are asking of us in the present moment.

Healing Through Sharing, Witnessing, and Ritual:

Participants will have the opportunity to fully engage in the ceremonial and practical aspects of nature connection, rooted in ritual, sharing, witnessing, and being with the liminal and unknown waters of life. Various practices, such as talking circles, dyads, poetry, dream work, deep imagery meditations, writing exercises, somatic/embodiment practices, parts work, and solo practices on the land will be incorporated to tend to our grief and uncover the gifts that lie beneath.
